Glenna Mahoney, Chair of Nursing and Assistant Professor

Glenna Mahoney earned her BSN at Graceland University and her MSN at Research College of Nursing. She also has a Post-Graduate Certificate in Spiritual Direction, SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Certification, and is a second degree Reiki practitioner. Mahoney has worked in psychiatric/mental health nursing, forensic/sexual assault nursing, and as faculty at the community college level. She has been at University of Saint Mary for three years. She received the Goal Seal Award for Highest Academic Honors GPA 4.0 for her BSN and MSN, and is a member Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for Nurses.

Kathleen Ducey, Assistant Professor

Professor Ducey has been a nurse for 41 years and has taught at the college level for four years. She received her BSN from the University of Saint Mary and her MSN from the University of Kansas. She has received the Research Award from the greater Kansas City Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society and the Professional Education Program Award from the American Cancer Society - Missouri Division. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for Nurses.

Melanie McClure, Assistant Professor

Melanie McClure has worked in the nursing profession since she was 15-years-old and earned her certification as a nursing assistant. She earned her A.D.N. from Kansas City Kansas Community College and her BSN and MSN from the University of Kansas. She is a Board certified family nurse practitioner. Her background is primarily in ICU nursing, though she has also worked in cardiovascular care and palliative and end-of-life care. She is a member Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for Nurses. McClure teaches a variety of nursing courses for USM, including online.
